Well today has sucked immensely. My BACKUP hard drive has failed, taking with it two years of photographs. Everything you see on this site, and much much more. 100s of family photos, software, program backups, bookmarks, password, log in information. You name it, I've lost it. To make matters worse I ordered an external drive yesterday to back them up while I wait to buy a bluray writer next month.

I've thrown my hat into the ring for two 'Photo 52' themes where I have to submit a photo following a theme that is set each week. They must be taken in that week too, so no blitzing photos of all types in the hope they fit a theme during the year! My latest is "Accommodation". This was taken in the grounds of the Parish church in Wrexham town centre. I ran it through a pre-set in Lightroom to add contrast to the shot as I wasn't quite happy with how clean the original shot was, as it felt too clinical (was straight from camera). Well I now have the Sigma 50mm 1.4 and it seems nice so far. Been busy/ill/tired/ill in the last few weeks so have only tried a basic couple of shots, but will have a potter about with it next week while I'm off work. I've also ordered a Canon 70-200 F4L and a Kenko x2 extender. The lens has vanished with City-Links system and they're not replying to my emails, while the extender has vanished in the Royal mail 1st class post. Why Amazon shipped an item 1st class and not special delivery is beyond me as insurance wouldn't cover them. Ah well, my plans for Christmas have gone pear shaped already thanks to 3" of snow.
